Training of Trainers

IMA International developed the customised Training of Trainers (ToT) for EEAFM course in 2013. A succession of regional trainers and facilitators have since then been successfully trained by IMA, by the first cohort trained at our pilot in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and by subsequent partners. The EEAFM ToT can take from 3-5 days and is designed specifically to be delivered in conjunction with an EEAFM course. This means that would-be trainers experience the actual course as participants, and can better appreciate how to facilitate the course, focusing on content as well as adult learning methodologies.

1.  ‘Preparing for effective learning’ is a short text explaining how adults learn. It describes four typical learning styles, their strengths and weaknesses, and identifies training techniques to match each style.

2.  The ‘Learning styles questionnaire’ enables you to identify your preferred personal learning style. As a trainer/ facilitator, it is useful to be aware of your own preferred style, as well as knowing the styles of other co-trainers and participants. You need to be able to explain that adults can be challenged to learn in different ways.
